Brooke Schneider (b. 1996, Greenville, South Carolina) is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Rooted in personal and cultural narratives, Schneider’s practice draws from the landscape of South Carolina, the body, memory, and Southern folklore. Working primarily in ceramic sculpture, her work alludes to overgrown relics and exhumed sites, referencing abandoned textile mills, iron gates, and invasive kudzu. She makes layered, tactile sculptures—dense and growing with ceramic vine—exploring materiality, texture, and form to examine the landscape and the body as sites entwined by cultural memory and collective ideologies.
Schneider holds an MFA in Studio Art from New York University (2026) and a BFA from the University of Southern California (2018). Her select exhibition history includes solo and group exhibitions at Frisson Gallery (New York, NY), 80WSE (New York, NY), The State Gallery at The Forge (Nashville, TN), The Tennessee State Museum (Nashville, TN), The Clay Center New Orleans (New Orleans, LA), and Inbe Art Space (Japan). Her work is included in the public collection of the Awa Hall of Japanese Paper at the Awagami Factory in Yoshinogawa, Japan. She is an upcoming artist in residence at Township10, Marshall, North Carolina (2028) and a past artist in residence at The Forge, Nashville, TN (2023-2024) and the Awagami Factory, Yonshinogawa, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan (2018).
